SPIN MY WORLD - THE LITTLE LEGEND

For two years in a row, Big Boom has won the Mailman Express, with Spin My World (aka Tic) wining the District category. Once again the dust boiled and the crowds gathered for the running of annual Mailman Express at the Buchanan Park Race track as part of the Mount Isa Rotary Rodeo Festival. 26 horses lined up for a chance at the $8500 up for grabs, with the fastest 10 horses lining up against the clock in the final.
The big bay - Big Boom, ran the fastest time in the first heat and would be the last horse to run of the top ten in the final, with Shecheatah leading the local contingent and Spin My World running in 5th place on a 12.652.
Come to the final, Spin My World, once again the fattest & smallest horse in the field, did not let his status deter him from making up time on his first run with a time of 12.514, putting him in first place.
Big Boom put in a blistering run of 12.35 to take the buckle and $5000, Spin My World had to be happy with second place money although he happily accepted the cheque for the fasted local, yet again.

Spin My World (aka TIC) a dual registered Quarter Horse and Australian Stockhorse (by the immortal Doc’s Spinifex out of Spice Girl) showed off the versatility of his breeding in 2008 by competing in a variety of events and finishing in the top line up in the majority of them and a combined total of winnings of over $10,000.

2008 Results:

  • 2nd in the Ladies draft at Camooweal Campdraft

"Tic approaches each of these events with a calm, casual attitude and waits for the cluck before he will step up on his toes, I believe we have been truly blessed to have such a horse in our possession here at Isana Quarterhorse and Australian Stockhorse Stud.  A complete pleasure to be around and to do anything with, with most not realising he is a stallion with his carefree laid back temperament." says Wendy. "The first of Tic’s progeny are now being broken in and trained, with the first two geldings to be retained for our kids Josie - 3 and Kody - 5, due to their unbelievable quiet and patient nature."

"The filly, Sugar n Spin, will head for the show ring for futurities and campdrafting, and I have no doubt these horses will come through in the fields we have chosen for them, as like their sire, they take everything we do with them in their stride." Wendy Christie
