- Improver status is for the rider, not the horse.
- An Improver is a person of any age that has not won more than 3 first place ribbons in that event.
- Improvers may compete in a chosen event for as long as it takes to win 3 first places.
- Improvers cannot compete on stallions.
- Improvers can ride a horse of any age in either a shank bit or a snaffle, one or two handed.
- Improvers may compete in any dress code but shirts must be button up front and long sleeved; either straw, felt or hard hat may be used. Boots can be elastic sided and must have a heel.
- Improvers will not the discriminated against by their dress code.
- Improvers may compete in Open and Amateur events, if they win one of these classes no matter how many other entries in the class this win will eliminate the rider from Improver status for that Class.
- Improvers must have an Amateur Card if they wish to compete in Amateur classes.
- Improvers may use a Western, English or stock saddle in Improver events, all other Western classes must use a Western saddle, Hunter classes an English saddle.
- Improvers are encouraged to approach club members if they are unsure of any rulings or need help or advice on anything. If this member can't help you, they will certainly point you in the direction of someone who can.
- If you want to be in the running for High Point Improver Award at the end of the Show year you must nominate on your membership form. You can enter Improver events without nominating, but your points won't get allocated for the end of year award.
