"SYLVA SPRINGS"The name Sylva Springs came from my mum's name, Sylvia. The property we had in Nanango had a beautiful, natural mineral water spring running through it which became very clear and could give the illusion of a silver appearance. Then it was 2002 that we leased and stood Duke, Salt Springs Jack Daniels, at our new property near Wondai. We purchased and stood Irresistabelle Zip* in 2003, that same year we lost our beloved senior sire Booribindi Trailblazer, only 4 months before his 20 birthday. In early 2004 we made the difficult decision to sell everything and move to NZ for family commitments. This meant selling Zip. We didn't sell all the mares after arranging to lease them out amongst friends ‘Sylva Springs Performance Horses' started out in Nanango Qld in 1997. We stood the Chestnut Quarter Horse Stallion, Booribindi Trailblazer by well renowned - Millbrook Vapour Trail. In the 2000 we stood a beautiful Palomino stallion, R U N V S by Spot of Grand. In 2003, Irresistabelle Zip* and Salt Springs Jack Daniels and in that same year we lost our beloved senior sire Booribindi Trailblazer, only 4 months before his 20 birthday. 2003 we sold Irresistible Zip* to Tony and Vikki Nichols of Aria Quarter Horses and due to family circumstances and moved to NZ. Our stud horses still remain in Australia spread amongst a few good friends; We retained Salt Springs Jack Daniels or ‘Duke' as he is known. After 7 years farming in NZ we returned to Kingaroy to pursue our dreams in breeding Western Performance Horses. We brought back with us, Sheza Gold Seeker, whose sire was bred in Australia. She is in foal to world champion QH stallion, This Kids All Style (imp USA) from Olena Stud in Putaruru, NZ. Sylva Springs Performance Horses' aim has always been to breed good looking, athletic, family horses, with a genuine temperament and cow sense. This makes them ideal for mustering, camp drafting, cutting, traditional rodeo events and pleasure. ‘Duke' has been involved in a variety of events from the tiny tots lead rein to camp drafting, he has even taught children to ride, and still has the get up and go to do a barrel race in record time. Previously we had leased Duke, however in June, 2005 we decide we had to own this phenomenal horse. His steady, sensibly, smart approach to every challenge he faces is what makes Duke a cut above the rest and these are all traits you can see in all of his offspring His versatility is unsurpassed & it shows by his list of accomplishments. Duke has competed in dressage events at agricultural shows, rope and rodeo events, turned his hand at show jumping and successfully competed in drafts. His style has been noticed by a variety of breeders and has sired Quarabs, Quarter Ponies, and soon to be born, ‘Aztec' – QH x Andalusian. To top all of this off he is buckskin with a 95% colour rating. We have various discounts and small incentives available to genuine clients
